Consent, San Francisco, CA, September, 2013

For Southern Exposure’s 39th Anniversary I constructed a performance/installation entitled “Consent”. First, I escorted people into the roped off area. Next I had them put on headphones and watch a video that explained how to get stuck in a prayer pew and then how to get unstuck from it. The video was executed in a similar style as the ASMR “whisper videos” that are popular on YouTube. Special thanks to Katherine O’Toole for shooting the photos and Josh Self for shooting the video.
